Caring for your skin

Your Clean Routine to Minimize the Discomfort of Psoriasis

Complimenting the treatment of your psoriasis with healthy skin care can really make a positive difference. Clean your face and body each morning and night by massaging with a gentle skin cleanser, such as Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser, lightly into skin. Avoid harsh rubbing since this will only irritate skin and won’t get it any cleaner. Rinse with lukewarm (not hot) water.

Gently pat your skin dry with a clean towel. While skin is still slightly damp, apply a moisturizer, like Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion or Cream. Applying moisturizers while the skin is damp helps trap moisture and keep your skin soft and smooth. Keep your skin hydrated all day by reapplying Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion or Cream as needed.

Healthy Skin Tips

Here are some additional tips to help you reduce your psoriasis symptoms:
  • Keep your whole body healthy. A healthy diet is crucial to physical health and therefore healthy skin. Eat your fruits and vegetables, get enough sleep, and stop smoking. Also, be sure to use sunscreen every day and drink plenty of water. Balance everything out by making exercise part of your daily routine.
